AUDIO Movie Reviews:

A new movie based on a Tom Clancy character, but not a Clancy novel, the devil is born on the big screen...again and the Oscar nominations have been announced.  What happened to Tom Hanks' "Captain Phillips" nod?  Hap Erstein with PalmBeachArtsPaper.com gives us his reviews of the new movies and we chat about the surprises at the Oscars announcement.

"Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" - Chris Pine plays the lead role, making him the fourth person to do so.  He portrays a young Ryan in a film that is actually not a story from one of Tom Clancy's novels.  Kevin Costner and Keira Knightley show up in this movie as well.

"Ride Along" - A comedy starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart.  Hap says this is an example of a movie that studios "dump" in January.

"The Nut Job" - Animated feature for the kids.

"Devil's Due" - Creepy looking horror film, assumable about a woman giving birth to the devil.  Dare you to see this one.

Hap's Art House Pick of the Week

"The Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival"  - This is on at theaters throughout Palm Beach County through January 26th.
