PB&J sandwiches...what can be more endearing to a 12 year old boy's heart...besides of course helping those in need?  That's the case with Wellington's Ryan Shnider, a seventh grader at Polo Park Middle School.

He is making the most of his Bar Mitzvah project by raising money for a non-profit that serves seniors on fixed incomes and those raising their grandchildren.

"It really meant a lot to Ryan.", says the boy's father Steve, "His grandfather was on the board of The Pantry of Broward and we as a family have spent a lot of time helping out, packing boxes and stocking shelves over the years."

Ryan wants to provide peanut butter and jelly for the Pantry.

Ryan's father Steve tells us why the "PB&J".
"It's a staple for these families.  It's something that the kids can eat that is nutritious and can last a while..."

At each of the local Whole Foods Markets today, you can buy a $2 peanut butter and jelly sandwich, with the proceeds from the sandwiches going to the charity.  In addition, Steve Shnider says "Whole Foods will be providing 5 percent of total sales to the entire store, through all seven stores in Palm Beach and Broward Counties."

Ryan and his family will stop at each store during the day to assist with the project. The schedule is as follows: Palm Beach Gardens – 10:45 a.m.; Wellington – 11:45 a.m.; Boca Raton – 12:45 p.m.; Coral Springs – 1:30 p.m.; Pembroke Pines – 2:30 p.m.; Plantation – 3:45 p.m.; Fort Lauderdale – 5 p.m.
