At 5pm on Wednesday the National Hurricane Center downgraded Chantal to an open tropical wave.
According to our weather partner, Storm Team 5, the remnants, will move between Eastern Cuba and Jamaica tonight and be in the Florida Straits Thursday night, then up into the area on Friday.
This will still spread heavy rains into south Florida Friday and Saturday. Rainfall totals will be in the range of 2-4" with locally higher amounts possible.
Our forecast will remain unchanged for now, with increased chances for showers and thunderstorms Friday through Sunday.
