The Palm Beach Post checked some federal numbers and has come out with a pretty interesting story that perhaps thousands should be paying attention to. Kim Miller writes that Florida has 82,000 homeowners who could be making smaller payments, but aren't. That's because they haven't taken advantage of the Home Affordable Refinance Program or HARP. In fact the Federal Housing Finance Agency came out with an interactive map that shows Palm Beach County has over 4-thousand borrowers who are eligible to to have their interest rates reduced. Experts believe many just aren't aware of the program or weren't eligible when it first came out.
